The city has a senate that debates on issues and draws up laws. The populace votes for the senators, who then vote on legislation. The head of the city is the city councilor, who is voted in by the senators and then serves for life. If enough people dislike the councilor, an impeachment process can be started to kick them out.
Defences
The city used to have a wall, but it was destroyed hundreds of years ago. It is now an archeological center. The navy of the city is extremely good, so any attacks from the sea tend to be crushed easily. The city also has a small standing guard, who are skilled at archery and horsemanship. While the sea defenses are impressive, the city is surrounded by wide open spaces. This allows them to spot enemies from far away, but it also leaves them open and vulnerable to attack. This is theorized to be the reason why Bragyntur was chosen as capital instead, with its natural borders of the Bragyn Woodlands and the Swiiptin Mountains.
Industry & Trade
Atalanti is a center of commerce, so a lot of its wealth comes from selling goods imported from around the country and the world. They also have a very large spice and agriculture output, since the fertile land, open fields, and temperate climate around the city and throughout the region allows for the cultivation of large amounts of produce. They are also a center for seafood, with fish and dishes known across the world. The city is full of marine biologists and oceanographers who have come to study the biodiversity and unique climate of the area.
Infrastructure
There is a huge shipyard on the coast, where Atlaun sends out ships to trade with other areas of Artkamezha and lands beyond. Their sewer and aquaduct system is extremley advanced, as well is their lighting system, which is oil and gas.
History
Atlaun was founded in the year 5000 BCE, as a small fishing and farming village populated mostly by aifin and vuui.
Tourism
Jalora and the Beast - a giant statue of regional legend Jalora, a 7 foot tall chagan heroine who protected the lands from monsters, wrestling the writhing form of Fassali, the giant sea serpent that apparently once menaced the city. This statue lies in the Milti neighborhood, by the ocean.
Old Atlaun Wall - this giant but crumbling wall used to guard Atalanti from the west, but it fell into disrepair centuries ago. Many artifacts have been found here, and it is very popular among archeologists and anthropologists.
Motas Aloa Buuvi or "The Happy Monk" - An ancient Erermanti temple in the historical district, most of it is destroyed, but a large smooth-stone statue of a laughing aminoiri monk still remains, which is what gave the temple its modern name.
Motas Alalu or The Temple of the Sun - One of the most beautiful and exquisite Uganti temples in the land. The roof is domed and plated with gold, and murals cover the walls and ceiling.
Lolacas Beach - Atalanti sits right on the Abenhemm Ocean, and has numerous beautiful beaches full of amazing wildlife and scenery. The most popular is Lolacas beach, which is a popular Nomadic Vuui roosting spot, as well as a resting area for seals, sea lions, and miniature sea serpents.
Architecture
The buildings are mostly square shaped with flat roofs, Spanish style, and are painted very colorfully. They are mostly made of adobe and clay.
Geography
Atlaun City has the Abenhemm Coast on the east and the Ajacos River and fertile, hilly plains on the northwest. Because of the wide open plains and hills, there are grazing herds and large fields of crops surrounding the city, mostly grains and vegetables. They get their water from the Ajacos river, as well as freshwater fish.
