Tortugueros Cavins

In the town of Márino, towards the south coast of the Great Utagrot Bay, a couple of small cabins stand on the beach. The "tortugueros" live there. A few decades ago, a small group of people who inhabited those coasts decided to dedicate a large part of their lives to appreciating and researching the different types of turtles that inhabit, temporarily or indefinitely, that part of the bay.

The group, calling themselves the "Tortugueros study group," lives simply apart from the town in a group of cabins made of wood and canvas. Although at first there was only the cabin of the group's founders, over time other people joined their cause and currently have four cabins, one being specifically dedicated to visitors, as well as a fireplace in the center of the cabins. The entire infrastructure, seen from the sky, seeks to imitate the shell of a special turtle, like the stars of a constellation.
