The Claw of the Four Wolves

On the plain behind the Great Wolf Forest rises a sacred place. Beyond its simple appearance, it carries behind it one of perhaps the most important moments in the recent history of the Killlomo peoples. This place, full of emotionality and spirituality, is The Claw of the Four Wolves. In the extensive plain stands a wooden monolith three meters high which is surrounded by a circle of stones at its base and another much larger circle surrounding a few meters away. The monolith has carved part of the history of the four Killlomo tribes until the moment when the leaders of each tribe decide to end the periods of conflict by fighting a duel in an all against all in that same plain, in order to decide who would lead all the groups.   The last night of the battle: Having battled the four on equal terms for four days it happened that during the night of that fourth day, illuminated by a giant full moon, a great white wolf appeared from the forest. He watched that battle all night long until the bright moon was right over the warriors. At that moment he approached them and spoke wisely to them. He told them that they were already dead, that their fight no longer made sense. The warriors naturally found it difficult to accept this, even though they fully trusted this majestic creature. The wolf told them that their battle did not require any of them as the victor, but all of them. He told them something that everyone had felt, that during the battle they realized every second the tremendous similarities between them and between their peoples, which were reflected in others and in their lives, the wolf told them that they were the same and exactly this was what all the warriors had thought while fighting. They agreed with the creature, but doubted that their peoples could accept that end to the struggle. The wolf assents. He then offered them to tell themselves everything that the warriors had lived, thought and felt to the wisest of each tribe and that they would be heard by all, but that it would require something from the warriors so that the wise would not doubt him. The warriors accepted the idea and each offered their right hand. The wolf accepted his hands and tore them off with an accurate bite. To the surprise of the warriors from that wound, no drop of blood flowed out, nor did they feel any pain. They understood then that in truth they were already dead. The wolf licked the warriors, wiping away all their blood and wounds, and went to visit every sage of the tribes handing over the hand of the warrior of the tribe. To them he told them everything with patience and wisdom, and by the time the full moon disappeared from the night he had already fulfilled his commitment. The wise men, like the warriors at first, doubted the creature and with the first ray of sunshine went to the battlefield, accompanied by more people, and there they found the four warriors lying on the ground, completely clean and with all their wounds already healed. It caught the attention of the sages and all who were there that the right arm of each warrior was resting on his body as if they were putting his hand on his heart, except that instead of a hand there was a wolf's claw supported. The sages then told everything that the wolf had told them and since then the relationship of the four tribes improved, accepting all of themselves as Killlomo.
