Phial Weapons

Phial Weapons   A magitech melee weapon typically has three installed phials to utilize Saether. You must be proficient with a weapon to use it phial abilities. Different weapons are able to equip different numbers of phials depending on their qualities as noted below.   Heavy. This weapon has an additional phial   Light. This weapon has one less phial   Two-Handed. This weapon has an additional phial   These qualities are cumulative so a light two-handed weapon would have 3 phials and a heavy, two-handed weapon would have 5 phials.   Phials are Uncharged but, while wielding a Phial Weapon, you gain additional actions you can take to Charge the phials. Different phials allow for different actions to be taken utilizing them and these actions will typically require you to Discharge them. This can only be done with a phial in the Charged state and changes their state to Uncharged. A Charged phial becomes Uncharged after one minute. A weapons phials can be changed out as part of a short or long rest as part of regular weapon maintenance.   All phial weapons have the below phial installed   Base Phial. This Phial has to be installed on a magitech melee weapon to utilize the other Phials. You gain the Clash Charge ability and Gathering Strike ability.   Additional phials are listed below:   Battering Phial. You gain the Phial Batter ability.   Boost Phial. A standard phial that unleashes Saether power. You gain the Phial Boost ability.   Elemental Phial. An elementally charged phial. The type of elemental is dependent on the specific phial itself. You gain the Elemental Boost ability.   Impact Phial. A phial that releases a powerful burst of Saether. You gain the Phial Impact ability.   Shield Phial. A phial that releases a plane of Saether energy, useful for defensive purposes. You gain the Phial Shield ability.   Slow Phial. The Saether in this phial warps space around your foe. You gain the Hampering Discharge ability.   Note: If a phial ability requires a saving throw, the Difficulty Class (DC) for that saving throw is equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + the ability score modifier used for the attack roll.   Clash Charge. As a Reaction, add +1 to your Armor Class against a single attack made against you by an attacker you can see. If that attack misses, Charge a phial. If you are dual-wielding phial weapons, the bonus to Armor Class is +2 and each weapon may Charge a phial if the attack misses.   Elemental Boost. Before you make a melee attack with this weapon, Discharge any number of phials. Your attack deals +1 damage per phial you Discharge, the attack gains the elemental damage type of the same type as one of your Elemental Phials and your weapon is considered magical for purposes of overcoming damage resistance.   Gathering Strike. Before you make a melee attack with this weapon, you can choose to take a -5 penalty to the attack roll. If the attack hits, you Charge 2 phials.   Hampering Discharge. As a Bonus Action, Discharge any number of phials. A single creature damaged by your next melee attack has its move speed reduced by 10 feet (to a minimum of 5 feet) per Discharged phial until the end of your next turn.   Phial Batter. When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can Discharge any number of phials to attempt to drive the target back. If the target is Large or smaller, it must make a Strength saving throw. On a failed save, you push the target away from you 5 ft per Discharged phial. This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks. If the target is knocked into another creature or a solid object, the target and creature or solid object suffer 1d6 bludgeoning damage, + 1d6 for every 5 feet the target would have continued past the barrier.   Phial Boost. As a Bonus Action, Discharge any number of phials. Your next melee attack with that weapon (or weapons) does +1d4 damage per phial Discharged on it if it hits.   Phial Impact. When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can Discharge a phial. Any creature damaged by the blast must succeed on a Strength saving throw or become prone.   Phial Shield. As a Reaction when an attacker that you can see hits you with an attack, Discharge any number of phials. Reduce the damage of the attack by 1d6 per phial Discharged.
