Prince Deverick Durendal

Prince Deverick Durendal, the bold. Eldest son of King Thormund, a martial minded, tactical leader, is an intimidating figure to his enemies. He values a strong kingdom with a strong will, and a formidable army and knights errant to protect the people of the Durendal Kingdom, He is known to have a brash judgement of society of the Southern Realms, and it is well known that his trust for the Dragonborn is weary at best. The recent calamity at Mystarus has brought many Magi refugees to his borders, and provides them a safe haven from his brother in the south. Prince deverick councils with the scholar Magi to try and find a way to stop the Arcanic bleed but this far has fallen short on solutions, especially so, while his attention is pulled towards the war with his brother.
He crowns himself king at New Helmstadt, the former seat of the Durendal kingdom, centuries ago before the Forming of the capital of Durengaard. His current hostilities with his brother Prince Hammond has the north and south domains of the kingdom in civil war and unrest. His supporters reside alongside him in the north, campaigning to have Prince Hammond dethroned from the crown seat in Durengaard, seeing him unfit to rule as the next king of the Durendal Dynasty.
