Mystarus

Originally of Elven origins but constructed by the Dwarves and Elves alike. The abbey of Mystarus is arguably the oldest construct on Tel'Evandros. At its center lies the grand temple of the Magii which houses the Jewel of Arcanus. Most of those who could wield the magical weave and who studied arcana would have at some point spent time in the abbey. The Magii of the grand temple were the only permanent occupants of this mystical place since time immemorial, as they're sole purpose was tending to the jewel.   A recent catastrophic event of unknown origin has allegedly caused the Jewel of Arcanus to fracture, releasing raw Arcanic energy, decimating the temple and abbey surrounding it as well as its occupants. It is said that the 'Bleed of Arcanus' has caused instability in the magical leylines of the prime material plane, leading to odd occurrences such as the infusion of arcanic energy into otherwise mundane individuals or the transformation of the environment for hundreds of miles beyond the ruins of Mystarus, this region is referred to as the Mana Wastes.
