Magii of Mystarus

The Great Abbey of the Magii, and temple of Mystarus lies in ruins, its Magii obliterated by the fracture of the Jewel of Arcanus, but it is not known what caused this catastrophe. The King blames the mages of ill intentions that they were planning to use the jewels powers against the mundane. But to prove such claims has been problematic, as the fallout from this event has spread out for hundreds of miles, which has been deemed the Mana Wastes.
The Archmage and his Magi were the greatest arcane practitioners in the realms, and now their superior knowledge of the Astral weave has been lost.
