The world has been under the careful guidance of the Almighty One, Nurdaerev, and those that worship them for the past seven hundred years. The center of this worship is the continent of Ubsiliom, an isolated landmass in the southern hemisphere of the world. Originally comprised of only four separate nations, three of which being tied to each other in an alliance, the nation has recently undergone a war of civil unrest brought about by the rebellion of several enslaved races. The War of Liberation embroiled Ubsiliom in war for nearly fifteen years. On one side there was the three allied nations of Sylabor, ancestral home of the high elves and center of worship of the Almighty One and arcane majesty, Margrvia, a wealthy mercantile nation and cultural melting pot, and Paterous, the militaristic nation of dwarves and humans. The Celtigian Archipelago, a nation of loosely allied islands and made of mostly dragonborn, halflings, and gnomes, were staunch allies of the rebelling goblinoids, orcs, and other monstrous races. The war lasted for nearly fifteen years, most fighting taking place in the southern regions of the continent in the nation of Paterous. The nation suffered the most damage of the war and lost much of its southern holdings to the Newly Liberated, with only small shows of support from its allies. A peace was eventually brokered by the newly appointed ruler of Paterous took power and was tired of seeing their current and lost holding being destroyed by constant war that left much of the land scared. The peace would give the lost holdings to the Newly Liberated people, whom would then name these lands Tel-Dah-Kah, and all former enslaved people in those lands and in Paterous itself would be given their freedom. This peace was begrudgingly accepted by Margravia, whom would slowly start taking measures to limit slavery in their borders. Sylabor would accept the terms of peace but made no additional agreements on the matters of accepting or acknowledging liberation and emancipation of any kind. The Tel-Dahians would accept this treaty, but their ultimate goal of true emancipation being stalled by the refusal of it by the other nations. Fifteen years have passed and the restoration of the war ravaged lands have been slow. Arcane rail lines throughout Tel-Dah-Kah were destroyed by saboteurs on both sides, the construction of them being a jealously guarded secret by the Sylaborians. Residual arcane devastation haunting the land between the fledgling nation and Paterous making land trade routes difficult to establish, and the only year round port making sea trade slow and frustrating. Still, the two neighboring nations have a burgeoning respect for the other and the seeds of cooperation have begun to sprout between the peoples. The Celtigian Archipelago continuing to be a trade ally, and Margravia now excited by the prospect of a new market for their goods has given legitimacy to Tel-Dah-Kah. The elves of Sylabor have become reclusive to one of their former allies and openly hostile to this newcomer to the world stage, and whispers of war between the two being more of a matter of "when" not "if" is on near everyones minds. Ubsiliom is not alone in the world, but trade with the outside world has gotten harder with raging seas becoming more common, monsters from the deep broil the sea with fury. Disturbing whispers from across the waves still reach the ports and ears of the people, stories of monsters hunting inside cities, whole towns vanishing, and fears of darkness creeping ever closer. The isolation has helped push back those fears making the peoples of Ubsiliom believe that they will be protected by The Almighty One from the corruption of the outside world. Yet who knows what lies in the world outside the boundaries of the cities, and if whatever is stirring can actually be beaten back or stopped.
