The Russian-Americans were becoming largely the most common American political figures, by 2020 the first Russian-American was elected president. This was great news until a few years later the government was primarily Russian and causing lots of unnecessary drama worldwide. In 2032 the third world war began, nukes were launched worldwide, cities near the east coast were either reduced to rubble or destroyed later in tsunamis.   Even worse the bombing of Satsop created a new virus, nicknamed "the mutant" by a 14-year-old comic book-obsessed kid, the virus first attacks the host's brain giving horrible migraines and symptoms of dementia. Eventually, the host has no recollection of who they are or the world around them. The virus pandemic was taken care of by a rising corporation the Southwest Libertarian Front who killed anyone infected and displayed their power which caused lots of panic in local towns.   After roughly 20 years the SLF was the most powerful group of government and many towns were under their control, the towns that weren't were constantly woken up by gunfire outside as their troops fail to hold off the SLF. Many people were unhappy and a bond was formed between many rebels to slowly remove the SLF from the west and earn freedom.
