Dragonborn's retreat

In 1051 BTF, Arothor was divided into several smaller countries. As travel was much more dangerous back then, the different races stuck together a lot more. The Human kingdom of Glyndor was located in the Northern part of the continent now known as Surda. The Dwarven tribes lived to the south of the continent of Surda in the large Mountains facing the seas and gathered magnificent amounts of ore. The Dragon born had gathered in the middle of Surda and were not affected by the burning heat like the other races and enjoyed it. The elves, gnomes, halflings, and Warforged lived on the northern continent, Saika, which was infused with magic because of the world tree, creating many creatures that evolved beyond their intended form. The Goblin race lived on the island that now holds the capital of Yetha. Many smaller races were scattered over the rest of the world, living in harmony with their surroundings. It was rare to see several different races in one place as they preferred to stay on their own during this time. This specific article will address the Dragon born, a resilient race that travelled the desert, going from Oasis to Oasis. These proud people took great pride in being descendants of the mighty dragons, worshipping them as they flew over and bringing animal sacrifices to gain their approval. These tribes often traded with the dwarven tribes to the south, selling hides and dried meat in return for gold and diamonds. The Dragon born would then offer these valuables to the dragons. In return, some dragons would often drop large beasts for them to feed on or guide them towards the nearest Oasis, which was easy to spot from the skies.     In the year 750 BTF, the northern kingdom of men expanded their territory, as the Kingdom of Glyndor needed to expand as its population had outgrown their food supply. The humans sent an army to cross the great desert, emptying the Oases and depleting all food as a great beast. The Dragonborn did not try and fight this army, as their numbers were too small compared to the large army. A white dragon named Krati stood up for the Dragonborn but was overwhelmed and died at the hands of the humans. Shocked by this, the Dragonborn fled south towards the dwarfs, hoping to find shelter.   The dwarves kindly let them into one of their fortresses, hearing their tales of this hungry beast approaching them. After months of waiting, the Human army had reached the green mountainsides. Piece talks happened, and the humans wanted every piece of land outside the mountains, while the dwarves could keep anything that was inside. But several farms of the dwarves were located outside, and they refused.   And so the war of Stone and Steel started. At the beginning, it seemed the dwarfs and Dragonborn would win, hiding in their stone fortresses. But the humans were clever, poisoning the waters that ran through the mountains and destroying the farms that provided food. Eventually, both the dwarves and Dragonborns escaped to the south, building rafts to cross the canal to the dragon spine. From this point, Roma was born. The exact story can be found in the Birth of Rome, but this is the story told by the dwarves and Dragonborn.
