The Talons

The Talons are militaristic group of The Followers of Raven  Orphans raised by the Church who have chosen the arts of war as their trade. Made up of recruited soldiers who have pasts of Violence and trained to restrain their violent nature and to unleash it in more constructive ways. Forbidden by the church to engage in any political actions against any of the kingdoms of the realm. but are free to govern themselves and offer their assistance for the betterment of society. Duties range from Extra caravan escort, to breaking up bandit and monster populations. To guard duty on trade ships traveling the seas. The Talons offer their services to anyone with a righteous cause as long as it does not go against the restriction set by the church. The often take in brawlers and other shady type to teach them the proper ways of mercenary work.

Composition

Manpower

Standing power of about 20 men, but able to call in other groups operating in the area as a joint effort if needed.

Equipment

Standard Military armaments' tailored to the soldiers specialties, most have basic medical training to assist in what ever might be called upon them while on a deployment. Some are gifted Magical armaments by the Talons themselves for acts befitting the deeds of The Ravens Codex

Weaponry

Melee and ranged combat weapons, as well as alchemical weapons depending on it's need

Vehicles

A supply wagon pulled by oxen for longer deployments of larger groups of Talons

Structure

The most Veteran of a group of Talons holds sway of the group as a whole but the soldiers are free to except contracts on their own and work together when needed

Tactics

Spread formation while in the field with a point scout to look for hostiles.

Training

Every Talon is able to pick up any standard weapon and defened themselves effectively. Some choose more exotic weapons as hobbies to train with on the sides, to perfect martial trainings

Logistics

Logistical Support

Logistical support when need is usual provided by a Member of the church who is good at log books and cooking. The deployment assists with loading and unloading the supply wagon but the Support member cooks and rations the food accordingly

Auxilia

Wizards of the Orphanage who have permission to work simple cantrips without a license to be card for by the Talons and the assist them where needed.

Upkeep

The band normal requires small influx of gold from time to time when jobs are slow or under pay. The majority of the armor and weapons are crafted by tradesman of The Followers for the price of materials. Food stocks are often donated by the church to the organization as a whole for security support at the temples in the wilderness

Recruitment

The Orphans of The Followers of Raven who show aptitude in military training. As well as the brawlers in the cities who seem to be stuck in unending cycles of violence without a cause.
