Onul Mountains

To the east of Arkodia is the vast Onul mountain range, home of the largest mountains in the world. The mountain range features a variety of climates, from the snowy landscapes of the higher regions, to the western flatlands and valleys, to the eastern coastal regions, and the southeastern desert.
The Onul mountains have been inhabited by the isolationist Garetor people for centuries. Long before the migration of the Central Arkodian Noken people.

Geography

A mountain range located on the boundary between Liukho and the rest of Arkodia. The northern part of the mountain range spans along the --- bay and tapers off into Calley, in this coastal region are fertile lands created by the many rivers that drain into the bay.
The mountains create a rain shadow to the east which creates the --- desert of Liukho.

Natural Resources

The mountains are rich with a wide array of precious metals, the mining of which make the bulk of the Gartor economy.

History

The region was first and is still inhabited by the Garetor people. Written sources from the region and early Hmun-Cha sources corroborate the idea that the Gartor have been in the region even as far back as the arrival of the Aikhsi on the continent. The early Hmun-Csa, who were descended from Aikhsi who settled in the regions to the southwest of the mountain range, had trading relations with some early Gartor tribes.
