Orc

A wild and bloodthirsty people, are the orcs. They can be found all over Ardunor, although their destructive and cruel nature usually means they band together in tribes in the wilderness, rather than integrating with the rest of society.   Orcs are powerful, and dangerous, but not always the brightest. The best solution to any problem is to smash its skull in. There’s not much cohesion between the various tribes. Each tribe worships its own orc deities, or some even worship the Megacosm.  

Orc Traits

Ability Score Increase

Your Strength score increases by 2, your Constitution score increases by 1, and your Intelligence score is reduced by 2.  

Age

Orcs reach adulthood at age 12 and live up to 50 years.  

Alignment

Orcs are vicious raiders, who believe that the world should be theirs. They also respect strength above all else and believe the strong must bully the weak to ensure that weakness does not spread like a disease. They are usually chaotic evil.  

Size

Orcs are usually over 6 feet tall and weigh between 230 and 280 pounds. Your size is Medium.  

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.  

Darkvision

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.  

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and Orc.  

Aggressive

As a bonus action, you can move up to your speed toward an enemy of your choice that you can see or hear. You must end this move closer to the enemy than you started.  

Menacing

You are trained in the Intimidation skill.  

Powerful Build

You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.  

Relentless Endurance

When you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can drop to 1 hit point instead. You can’t use this feature again until you finish a long rest.  

Savage Attacks

When you score a critical hit with a melee weapon attack, you can roll one of the weapon’s damage dice one additional time and add it to the extra damage of the critical hit.  

Orc Origins

Orc tribes can be found all over the continent. Where an orc comes from says a lot about what they’re good at, or what they value. An orc from the jungles of the Scythe, for example, likely behaves much differently than an orc from the dunes. There are, of course, some orcs who have chosen to make their lives within the cities, and they must go through great lengths to overcome orc prejudices.  

Half-orc

No one really wants to think about where half-orcs come from, and yet there are plenty of these people all over Ardunor. They share the flexibility and (relative) intelligence of their human ancestors with the strength and ferocity of their orc side. Half-orcs can be found anywhere where there are humans or orcs, but are often shunned by both.  

Scythian Orc

The jungles of the Scythe are teeming with dangerous wildlife and man eating plants. Reptiles the size of houses roam the lands, and there are always active volcanoes. Orcs from these lands must always be vigilant, expecting the worst and then smashing its skull in when it appears. The mightiest of these orcs are said to be capable of wrestling the gigantic reptiles.
