Pytira

The Magistrate of Pytira is a city-state located on the island of Pytira in the Erdicho sea, founded in 411 after the Pytiran War of Secession (409-411), when they seceded from the Ecletian League of States (387-432). The Magistrate was founded by Savra Vathys, a local noble that had become the bastion of Pytiran independence due to his anti-Ecletian acts by doing business that was illegal during the reign of the ELS, such as slavery, weapons trades and gambling hubs. Savra then created the Magistrate based on making nearly all things except for murder, embezzelment and treason legal. This earned him a controversial reputation as Pytira soon became a international hub for criminals and rebels and also politicians, because of this many nations either gave Pytira a defense pact in exchange to be connected to the economic hub that is Pytira, or they would sanction the state for hosting rebels or criminals. Foreign nations now often change their allegiances regarding Pytira as the magistrate is seen as a tool for bargaining and gaining materials, weapons and information otherwise illegal to obtain elsewhere. Pytira holds a strict guard known as the Celino Guard, that are made up of the best mercenaries in the world, permenantly contracted to the Magister of Pytira, this order was founded by Magister Trofias Vathys as a way to ensure the protection of the office of magister and the Vathysian house.
