Ebdimid Empire

The Ebdimid Empire was a geopolitical empire in western Ardhan that lasted from 688-874. The Empire was founded by Azho Dehya after he began his campaign of uniting the region of Azaran.

History

The Ebdimid Empire was proclaimed in 688 by Azho Dehya of Allar, when he began his campaign of uniting the Azaran kingdoms and forming the "Ebdimid" meaning Eternal, empire. Dehya succeeded in conquering the Vezari kingdoms by 702, he then enacted the Konad Policy which founded imperial academies to cultivate artistic and technological advancement. The era following the enactment of the Konad policy and subsequently the death of Azho would be known as Sotalan Period.

Sotalan Period (703-749)

The Sotalan Period was defined by historians as a period of grace and peace for the empire, a period of social cultivation and growth of cultural influence. It was the "golden age" of the empire. The Konad policy made it that 14 academies would be founded and maintained institutionally by the empire, 14 academies for 14 subjects. The most important were the Hangarahan Academy of Architecture, Laghze Academy of Philosophy, and the Abinizeh Academy of War. These academies were the most prestigious to be admitted to because the Empire had hired the greatest minds of the century to teach within them, many nobility sent their children to these schools, sons especially were sent to the Abinizeh Academy to become officers of the Empire and be the pride of their respective families. This soon competitive environment created quick advancement of the Ebdimid Empire from a warlords dream to a hegemonic, academic society.
