Al-Paren

Al-Paren
Show spoiler
Al is the standard Tabaxian word for City and Paraen is compound of Paratil meaning night and Laen meaning fall
is the city most known for thieves, drugs, and strange cults. Many believe that large crack that splits the town in town was created by a legendary king of Tarzu who was tricked by Al-Paren into letting them be an independent city state. This crack is now home to the Crimson Cult who stores monstrosities and unwilling servants within.

Government

The government is split into two parts the night government and the day government. This split occurred because of Tarzu refusing to trade with the city state if it had no proper government and the fact that most inhabitants and transients of the town are criminals. The official letter revived from Tarzu stated "A proper government needs to server its citizen, enforce law and create laws during day. It must be able judge it's citizens in trial and execute punishment. Finally it must defend it citizen even through the night". The Parens saw this as opportunity to create government that favor's them. The new government along with few treats, to simply migrate on mass to Trazu, caused Al-Paren to revive recognition from a regional power.

The Day Government: "A proper government needs to server its citizen, enforce law and create laws during day"

Tarzu meant that a proper government needs to server its citizens and enforce laws days and night and create laws during the day. Al-Paren claimed that it stated that they need to only server the citizens, enforce laws and create laws during the day because of this the legislative and executive branch shutdown every day at sunset and do not reopen till sunrise. This shutdown is complete including police, firefighter and medical services as well as all laws being put on hold.

The Night Government:

"It must be able judge it's citizens in trial and execute punishment. Finally it must defend it citizen even through the night"   Tarzu did not expect Al-Paren to point out that these trails and executions do not have to be fair or done in an ordered manner. Nor that a military defends ones citizens. Because of this the criminal syndicates run their own paramilitary group that run through night judging and executing those who stand in the way of the government as well as preventing people from leaving after sunset.

Industry & Trade

Many inhabitants refine drugs, make weaponry or take out contract as hit men. These may sound like lucrative businesses but when every neighbor you have is doing the same and with the syndicates taking ninety percent of ones goods and profit every night very little income can be made.

Guilds and Factions

Within the city there major factions reside within the city, The Burnt wheat Mob, Crimson Cloaks (Cult), and The Family of The Sword.   The Burnt Wheat Mob: Specializes in the drug trade everything from drug creation, to distribution, to creating new customers.   Crimson cloaks: This cult may seem harmless at first as they only recruit from other cults. However this means that their members are commonly high ranking members of other cults and church big and small.   The Family of The Sword: This group is the smallest out of the three and act as the muscle and army for Al-Paren.
