The Apostle

The Apostle is the leader and head of state of the Altean Theocracy. Said to be a reincarnation of St Altea herself the Apostle is identified from among young girls of the Holy Bloodline by the guiding council when the previous Apostle dies or is judged to be no longer suitable.
Critics of Altean politics are wont to point out that Apostles have a habit of dying soon after they get old enough to form opinions of their own.
