Arion
Crown Prince Arion Neyris
Arion is the Crown Prince of the island and kingdom of Neyris, nephew of the current King Laurion, and son to the king's brother Lord Julius and his consort Lady Malota. Arion was chosen at a great council of Neyrian leaders to be the next king, and is now in training to take on that role.
He was raised for several years by Lady Pallas, one of King Laurion's chief advisors. Although Arion did not follow in Pallas' footsteps to become a notable mage he seems to have taken many of her political lessons to heart.
Arion is currently under the protection of his cousin Crowser; a captain in the Neyrian Army and one of the other candidates for King Laurion's heir. Initially there was a concern that Crowser might use his connections in the army to attempt to usurp Arion, but Crowser seems to have been hit hard by an attempt by one of his lieutenants to murder Arion and has instead dedicated himself to Arion's protection and training.
After some time being taught the fundamentals of rule by his uncle Arion has been sent off to see the wider world under Crowser's protection.

General Physical Condition
Although Arion has formal training at arms and is generally healthy he is also still a child, and is thus lacking in strength.
Mental characteristics
Education
For the last four years Arion's carer was Lady Pallas, an advisor to Arion's father and a respected Neyrian Mage and Politician. Pallas hired tutors to educate Arion, alongside his cousin Cecily, in history, logic, arithmetic, arms, art and music. She taught both children magic and political theory personally.
Employment
Arion's employment up until recently was his general education. Now he is receiving a more focused education from his uncle, King Laurion, and his highest advisors.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Arion was not born to rule. He was chosen by a council to be the next King of Neyris after King Laurion, his Uncle.
Mental Trauma
The day before the council which was to name Arion as King Laurion's heir an attempt was made on his life by an assassin who assumed a monstrous form for the mission. The assassination attempt was thwarted by the machinations of Lady Pallas, and the efforts of the Party from the Guild of Cardinal Points she hired to see her plan through.
Intellectual Characteristics
Arion is by no means a stupid child, but he always felt somewhat intellectually inferior compared to his cousin Cecily. While not quite on Cecily's level in terms of intelligence Arion is known for having an encyclopaedic knowledge of many myths, legends and histories involving adventure and excitement. He has expressed an interest in travelling, and seeing the wider world when he's older.
