History
When the Great Cataclysm sundered the Capital of the old world, the district of Alarvon was cast out into the sea. Protected by various magical wards, this small island survived. However, a magical plague caused by the fallout from the explosion soon gripped the population, wiping out all life on Alarvon, leaving its vast wealth unguarded. A number of years after the desolation, the offspring of these families, sent abroad for tactical marrigaes and exchanges returned to claim what was now rightfully theirs, creating a haven for the old families of the empire, and a safe place far from the raging wars spreading across the fractured empire. Generations later, the modern population care very little for the old ways, living in luxury and getting fat off the wealth of the mainland, Alarvon still remains a political giant in the Archipelgo, even if they rarely throw that weight around.
Architecture
most buildings are large in stature, being originally crafted from white marble, multiple shades of granite or other such luxurious stones, with the majority having gold and silver motiffs covering the interior and exterior.
Geography
Alarvon is set upon a small Archipelago, with great bridges joining together the multiple islands that make up the town itself. Each noble house typically has a devoted island for their family manor, with other propeties housing their extended family.
