Runecarver/Reiso (ɾeɪ̯-so)

With the discovery of Magic, there is a great job that relies on this. Rune Carvers or Řeiso is a job that focuses on carving runes onto objects. It's a very social job as it relies on people travelling to many areas with different machinery, workforces and cultures. Because of this Rune Carvers have many ties with people, so it's good to be friends with at least one.                                             

One such use of the Rune Carver is the developing Train Connection system. In the JNR Class C59 engine fleets steam must be used to power the trains. Rune Carvers will use fire and water runes to generate steam in a perpetual machine to power the engines in an effective and sustainable way.

Career

Qualifications

To become a Rune Carver, you must have a major in an Arcane field and at least some qualifications in some form of craftsmanship, whether it be blacksmithing, carpentry or even art.

Career Progression

You first start as a Novice, or as they call it, a Juřeis (Minor Rune). Here you learn the basics of Rune Carving, including how to carve the runes, make runes on different materials and differentiate them. This Takes them about 1 year to do so, and then they become the Řeis (Rune), where they learn actions such as how to control the rune and remove the rune, this course takes about 2 years. Finally there is the Tsořeis (Major Rune) which tests the combined knowledge of the Runecarvers until they graduate.

Many people who are rune carvers are respected in their careers and get to meet many people. Their work helps with many industries, like the developing train system (Water and Fire runes make Steam make a perpetually powered engine).

History

Rune Carvers was created to discover the magic within metal from Comets or Falling Stars, as the locals call them. When the locals found the runes, they had implemented the metal of the asteroids into the carving tools, and because they were carved in a certain shape, locals believed that these runes were the reason the objects had the magic instead of the metal in the asteroid itself. So a band of people joined together to carve out the runes with these pins.
Metals from the asteroids with a Blue tint are of Water, Green tint for Wood, Red tint for Fire, Just Grey and White for Metal, Yellow for Earth and Black for void
