Dajitakik/Burning Hay

History

During the new shogunate era, a further punishment had been devised to punish those too cruel to be in Senshihechi/Řanzhā. After learning that the grass in the fields was flammable, they quickly used it to execute these criminals painfully. When WWII had started, they had gathered up surviving European soldiers from their raids and used this method to kill some of them, sending footage of such crimes to the generals whilst making sure to hide information about their location. After the war, it had been clear that this was a war crime and that The Archipelago of Seasons must pay reparations and formally apologise. They managed to do this thanks to the understanding of war by Oasi Dakded/Osi Daded and the money gained from selling the new rune carving services for machines. The execution is no longer allowed, and the death penalty has been removed.

Execution

1. Knock out the criminal or opponent, make sure to search the body for weapons or other items and switch their clothes if they are wet. 2. Force feeds them alcohol to drunken them up, making sure that reaching a water source is hard. 3. Tie bundles of dry grass or other dry plant material on the body. Make sure it covers up the most area. 4. Wake them up, have them stand in a line, place snipers and guards with guns or swords if they try to escape. 5. Inform them that a body of water is nearby, and they must race to get there. 6. From a safe distance, set them on fire. 7. Get back and watch them scramble, film the video to send to their generals without showing vital information. While there is a chance they may reach the water, they might either die from the burns or die from the sudden temperature shift. 8. The first person to reach the water will be given an honourable death, while the rest will be gunned down or succumb to their burns. 9. Place the winner on their knees 10. Finally, chop their head off. It is an intimidatory tactic to have their head dangling on their horses.

Components and tools

Requires plant produce, a chokuto, a lighter on a stick, alcohol, rope, dry clothes, a Camera and reel, and the criminal or soldier.

Participants

Criminal Executions are attended by the police, a general and an executioner for the main setup, along with the convict and a crowd of people. Soldier Executions are accompanied by the general and the army, along with the executioner and the captured soldiers selected to send a message.
