The Isserian monarchy undergoes a crisis of leadership when their king and queen are assassinated with their eight-year-old daughter as their only surviving heir. A group of religious zealots who worship only Kolif'rem above all other gods back an elven man named Dietrich Albrecht, the king's noble consort, as the next king. This backfires immensely when the king's younger sister takes power until the princess can come of age and immediately begins hunting down the consort and his supporters. The consort as well as the zealots are chased by the Isserian army all the way to the Via mountains, where they plead with Levisvia to grant them safe passage. Levisvia had previously blocked passage between eastern and western Archia completely, and in doing so safely kept out the Rughalian empire even after it entirely covered the eastern side of the continent, but she took pity on the wayward Isserians and granted them passage into Vibria, where they would be safe from the Isserian army. The settlers struck up a deal with a local demigod in the very northern part of historical Vibria (now northern Escher) that allowed them to settle down, and they began setting up a small settlement that they called "New Isseria."
