Archia

The world of Archia is a magical land where magic has its everyday uses, a mere tool that is a part of everyday life. Those who wish to go above and beyond devote themselves to the development and practice of the art of magic. These are the knights of the land; protectors of society that use their power for fame and fortune. Many devote themselves to the many kingdoms spread throughout the lands and pledge allegiance to the kings to provide stability within the lands. In the earlier days of magic in the lands of the humans, with the vast power gained within the many kingdoms, tensions rose between the kingdoms and the years of peace came to a bitter end. The world of Archia plunged into chaos in the constant state of warfare, whole towns and villages were eradicated. It was so bad that the other races had to step in to maintain order to prevent the war escalating to their homelands, the Aesir(angel race, powerful but low in number), Elf(pacifist, nature-loving, healers), Dwarf(technologically advanced, rare to use magic), Giant races(physically strong, connected to earth), and a single peace-wanting human kingdom, all banded together and established peace in the human lands by creating a central governing kingdom of said human kingdom. However, the races were tricked by the Hel race(demon) since they were the ones inciting the human war in the first place, with all the races homelands relatively unguarded the demons razed and pillaged freely until the secluded Nords of the far north, a powerful warrior race which culture is entirely based on fighting felt that their own people would be threatened if the demon race continued to succeed. The Nords defeated the demon race and using the most powerful magic sealed them away in the outcast isles, only allowing those of a "pure heart" to pass since all demons had corrupt hearts.   The ambition of the Nords did not stop there, they wanted more power and to do so they launched several campaigns of raiding on all the nations weakened form the war. The Nords had managed to conquer the races easily, with the exception of a few strongholds spread throughout the land. The Nords still wanted more power and since there was no more possible land to gain, they turned on their brothers in arms, and infighting ensued once again throughout the lands. Then came the dragons, mystical creatures of unimaginable power that rivaled that of Nords that ravaged the northern waters of the Nord homeland. The Nords were uneducated and very aggressive which lead to the collapse of the Nord empire back into the individual races of Archia. The Nords were all driven back north where they are in constant warfare with dragons.   1000 years later the races are stable but the races are once again divided, not to the point of war but divided nonetheless. The humans are still thriving in individual kingdoms with a central kingdom to control over the others to prevent war. The demon race is mustering forces for their prophesized return to raze the world in revenge and the Nords still have a fighting/warrior culture that is in constant war with dragons.
