Ocean currents
The spirits of water in the South Ocean are lively and mobile throughout, resulting in a series of deep rapid streams. These currents function as an oceanic highway that sea elves and other aquatic species use for transportation. The currents lead long paths that wend around hills and wind through valleys along the sea floor. Where a current collides with a large solid mass, such as an island or undersea mountain, it splits into two separate currents, creating a network of branching paths convenient for traveling throughout the ocean.
The paths and directions of the currents are shown on the South Ocean map.
