Northguard

Northguard is a city that has sat at the base of the great mountain passes into the Verge since the days of the Logios Empire, even serving as its final line of defense against the invading Anteceans. Despite its distance from the rest of the Kentran Kingdoms, it serves as the last cultural bastion of the Logios, though even it is a shadow of their former glory. In the days following Antecea's collapse, Northguard was one of the few major population centers of humanity left untouched by the collapse, but saw a considerable dip in population as new kingdoms rose from the ashes.

Northguard saw reinvigoration as a settlement in the century following the Second Abyssal War. With the elves presence in the region destabilized, warlords from the Verge seized on the opportunity to surge into the more fertile lands of the south. The burgeoning human empires rallied and pushed them back, uniting at Northguard to put an end to the incursions. Northguard has stood as a bulwark against the warlords of the Verge ever since.
