The King's Justice

The King's Justice is a tale told about the Lost Kings of the Dhrakar Kingdom. The Drakar Kingdom, home of the dragon kings and queens, was ruled by ones deemed worthy by the dragons age after age until the dragons died out and the Dhrakar were left to choose their own kings, resulting in nepotistic inheritance of the Dragon Throne, the Black Crown, and the Sword of Kings. The greed in the hearts of this family slowly placed a curse upon the Sword and Crown, which, after centuries, began to drive rulers mad, until eventually the line died out and the rule of the kingdom was passed to a family of Stewards. Never to sit the throne or wear the crown, simply to guard. Sygmar Ny'Dhavel, the first steward, buried the bones of the last Dragon King somewhere secret, along with the sword and crown, and the location of the bones died with him. It is said, by milkmaids and mothers alike, that the souls True Kings of the Drakar Kingdom roam Archaera weeding out injustice and "bad behavior" such as that which brought their kingdom low. It is also said that the spirits seek one that is worthy to rule their people and take back the throne, the ultimate reward for good behaviour. Mothers tell this tale to their children to keep them in line.

Historical Basis

The King's Justice is the (mostly) true, if exaggerated, tale of the end of the reign of the dragon kings and queens. The dragons really did die out (as far as was known), and the throne was then passed down through bloodlines until greed cursed the Crown and Sword, driving the monarchs too mad to reign. The part that mothers tell their children though, which comes off as wives' tale hogwash, is actually prophecy. Though it is never quite made clear what marked them, Istari, Taera, and Kree were chosen, in one way or another, to re-aggrandize the Drakar Kingdom.
