Red Bluffs

The Red Bluffs, or the Red Rock Bluffs, are a shelf of red rock plateaus stacked against the eastern border of Myrrhan. They are so tall that they reflect off the Alrang Nadi from miles away, giving it its name (the Dark Red River). They mark the westen edge of the dry lands between Myrrhan and the coastal provinces of the elves.
The Bluffs have become almost mythical, and definitely contain some kind of ancient magic, as they often appear in prophetic dreams. Many with the gift of sight will go there in an effort to increase their abilities. It is said that a true seer can remain as long as they like on the bluffs, living off the land, while a pretender must be gone in six days and six nights, or they will be swallowed by it.

History

The Red Bluffs, over time, have become a well-respected, if not holy, place. The Myrrhanian people include the bluffs in several rituals (though the details of them are often unknown to outsiders). The Bluffs have become a ceremonial marker for the Myrrhanian people, so far as to be a rite of passage for young Myrrhanian warriors looking to advance. At the end of a series of ardurous trials, they must journey to the Bluffs and stay there for six days and six nights, with only what is on their backs. If they make it home, they are honored as Yadda (an honorific for the elite of the Myrrhanian warriors).
Other notable interactions with the Red Bluffs are when Istari Or'Sedan visits them during her travels after leaving the Great Library after her training. She recounts the tale to Kree Al'Beric and Taera Ny'Dhavel, saying that she encountered a group of three Myrrhanian warriors looking to become Yadda on her second night, and she stayed with them for the duration of their test.
