The Darkwood

Geography

The Darkwood is an extremely old-growth forest, mostly composed of darkwood trees. It stretches across most of the southern part of Archaeon, and runs up against the Spikes in the east.

Fauna & Flora

The Darkwood is inhabited by a wide variety of mundane and magical creatures; many are much older than some of the civilizations on Archaeon, and are considered dangerous even by the elves.

Natural Resources

The Darkwood is the primary source of darkwood in Archaeon, which is critical to the airship construction process. The elves have a monopoly on the material, which makes negotiating with them critical for any group that wants access to it for airship construction.
