Valynt (val-e-yent)

Valynt, a warforged fighter, awoke in a state of disorientation, leaning against a decrepit smithy where the once-skilled blacksmith was nowhere to be found. Haunted by unanswered questions, he pondered how long he had remained dormant, who had created him, what purpose he served, and the reason behind the ruinous state of his surroundings.   His awakening led him to encounter a reclusive hermit, once renowned for his prowess in combat. The hermit, known as Hermie, revealed that the desolate and debris-filled town he found himself in was once known as New Jack City. The town had always lived in the shadow of mages, their dominance and power casting an oppressive pall over the realm. Under Hermie's tutelage, Valynt learned the art of combat, and within him, a deep-seated resentment towards mages took root. Although Valynt suspected Hermie's name was an alias, he never pressed the matter, respecting his mentor's privacy.   For two years, Valynt trained diligently under Hermie's guidance until an event that marked the beginning of his dark journey. During a routine rest cycle, Hermie casually approached Valynt, stating that he intended to fetch some supplies – a pack of smokes and a gallon of milk – only to vanish without a trace, never to return. The reasons behind his sudden disappearance remained elusive, but this abrupt departure left a profound impact on the warforged, who felt an overwhelming sense of abandonment and loss.   Driven by a relentless desire for answers and fueled by the evidence of magic found near the hermit's last known location, Valynt's anger surged. His heart now harbored an intense distrust of all things magical, and he vowed to uncover the truth of what happened to his master. A burning desire for revenge took root, compelling him to seek out the spellcasters responsible for Hermie's fate.   As Valynt sets out on his grim quest, he acknowledges that confronting magic and other arcane forces is inevitable. He knows that cooperation with magic users may become a necessity in his pursuit of truth and his ambition to become the strongest fighter in the world. Yet, his journey does not initially inspire hope within the hearts of the inhabitants of New Jack City or turn him into a symbol of change. Nonetheless, as he grows in strength and experience, the townsfolk may come to recognize that his humble beginnings were in the very ruins they now call home.
