Vidalia

The secret to Vidalia's wealth lies not in its mines, nor woods, or its high mountain abbeys. Vidalia's strength comes from its people. In Castletown, artisans from every walk of earth thrive and sell wares. Miners to the east tunnel mighty caverns and unearth coal, iron, copper and tin, in such quantities that children are bewildered by the caravans that bring the spoils back to town. Castletown's spires can be seen from the abbeys at the mount, and at night are lit with hellfire and celebration. The city seems to be engulfed in the flame of cheer.
Peace is found to the north of the mount, where quiet farms share land and families share firelight and meals. Smokey River lies in the largest glacial valley, in the smack middle of the province. Shamans gather herbs to sell potions to passersby.

Geography

Vidalia is composed mostly of rolling hills and dense podzol woods, barren of grass but dense with good, strong wood. The woodlands are deciduous and do not shed leaves as the seasons pass. Humans call the woods Evergreen, but Denizens tend to think the name is silly.

Fauna & Flora

white mushrooms and truffles are very common in the wooded areas, as is worrywart, mustard seed, vine plants used in hemp, and other leafy green plants. Berries are plentiful, a well as naturally occurring strawberry patches. Squash is one of the best growing crop, save for barley and wheat-grain.
Boars, deer, elk, moose, squirrels, foxes, weasels, are all very common, as are fireflies and stag beetles. Apex Stags roam freely through the prairies, where they are cultivated for use in the vanguard.

Natural Resources

Vidalia is rich in copper iron and coal, and mining is legal in certain areas past a certain depth. Residential areas are not allowed to be mined.
