Icerunner

In the cold, white landscapes of Aidin, the citizens use Icerunners to get around faster. They work better and faster over solid ice, and although much of Aidin is snowy, there are plenty of areas that have been "paved" with solid ice as roads to different cities and across certain wildernesses. They aren't so common where every citizen has one and rides it around, but they're common enough that plenty of people feel comfortable commuting to workplaces that are farther away, much farther than people in other countries are comfortable with traveling. Icerunners can also pull carts and wagons, replacing the need for beasts of burden, at least in ice-paved regions.   They aren't appropriate to ride in the middle of cities, as that can be hazardous to citizens walking and minding their business. Usually, when riding and Icerunner to a city, a person would stow it outside the city walls or just inside at a docking structure akin to stables for a horse. The vehicles can be hooked outside the cities without being in a dock for free, but the owners risk it getting stolen without the protection of a fee. Horses are considerably slower than Icerunners, so in many cities in Aidin, horses are permitted inside without need for stables.

Propulsion

A long blade like an ice skate (but wider at the bottom to not slice the ground) protrudes from the bottom to easily glide over solid ice and to flatten powdery snow. To go over snow, it works mostly like a sled, having to be pushed by the rider, but over smooth ice, the blade reacts to the magical properties of ice and glides over it without any effort from the rider.
