The Watchers

One of the 5 main factions of the governing bodies of Ixbaezia, the Watchers are the peace keepers among the community. They act as neutral parties to help mediate any dissonance between the other factions. They also act to keep the factions in balance so that no one faction gains more power or traction than any others. They make sure that the city's needs as a whole are met and organize supplies for its denizens. The Watchers come into conflict most often with the Faceless. Both provide a lot for the city, but the Watchers believe that some of the Faceless' activities could jeopardize the delicate power structure of a technically lawless land. These conflicts have earned the Watchers a somewhat negative reputation since their operations often mirror law enforcement of the societies that exiled so many of the citizens of Ixbaezia.

Structure

The Watchers have three tiers to their hierarchy. At the top of the chain of command is the overseer who's focus is on giving the leaders different tasks and objectives to accomplish throughout the city. Under the overseer are the various captains, each with their own team of watchers. Each captain and team are to accomplish certain tasks on a regular basis and to report to the overseer.

Religion

Like most of Ixbaezia, they follow Safokang and perform her rite regularly to grant them protection and warmth in the cold desolation. However, they don't treat their prayer like religion, it is closer to a tradition passed down since the founding of the city. They pray to her name, but there are no statues or temple dedicated to their goddess. The people of Ixbaezia have never known anything more about their goddess, she was a name lost to the ages and a face even further gone.
