Az'Jera

Az'Jera are a unique and genetically diverse species that value the community above all else. The Az'Jera are an insectoid people and possibly the most abundant of the 7 races. Although they vary greatly in size, shape, and even form, they are all one people. They have one large nest found in the middle of the enchanted forest which is also aptly called Az'Jera (nest). Their home is a big part of their identity. All Az'Jera are one with the nest and the nest is one with them. Because of their unique connection, Az'Jerans have developed excellent nonverbal communications skills. This is a part of their unique hivemind ability found in no other race that they can also use to communicate with lesser insects and control them to an extent. This form of communication varies from Az'Jera to Az'Jera. This can be done through pheromones, lighting up parts of the body, dancing, telepathy, certain touches, and even antennae movement. Even if an Az'Jera can't produce a certain form of communication, they all instinctively understand all the modes of communications. They can understand more than they can "speak" in a sense.

Not all Az'Jera live in the nest, many of them live all over the many settlements throughout the nation. They all know that if they return to the nest, there is a space for them, no matter what. The Az'Jera believe that their laws supersede all other laws, that they will be the only ones to judge themselves. Crimes committed by Az'Jera will be answered to by Az'Jera. Likewise, crimes committed against Az'Jera by other races will also answer to Az'Jera. Most authorities have no qualms with this, since they are aware of how strict and harsh Az'Jeran punishment can be. Az'Jera are famously adept imbuers, pouring aether into just about everything they make. From the food in their homes to the wood on their walls, everything is imbued to fortify and unite them. This lead to their home being deemed the City of Aether, magus who draw near can feel it's presence. They dare not get too close though, the Az'Jera rarely allow outsiders in.

The Az'Jera have not one, but 3 queens. The queens are mother to all Az'Jera and are treated like divinity. They claim to have been around since the first Az'Jera. They were there when the first webs were spun, when the first holes were dug, and the first wax combs were molded.
