tall, athletic, and terribly handsome. he has crowsfeet in the corners of his eyes and a full head of salt and pepper hair.

Personal history

He was born to an upper middle class family before the apocalypse. A gifted student, he attended an ivy league law school, married the beautiful daughter of a US senator, and was rapidly progressing through the ranks of a prestigious law firm. Office politics suddenly stagnated his career so he quit and started working for his father in law, representing his campaign. His father in law developed a terminal illness and one of his friends talked him into investing in a cryonics firm. When his father died, he was out of a job and began working for the cryonics firm. When apocalypse began to get really bad, he talked his wife into allowing him to freeze the two of them and their baby. They spent several decades frozen but when the machinery detected that the climate had improved it thawed him out. It was then that he discovered that his wife and baby’s capsules were empty. He found her dried remains still tied to machinery, her clothes torn and stab wounds evident. Near the remains of a cooking fire he found the small bones of a baby.
(Alternatively, she might have been nervous about the process and he volunteered to go first. Once he was frozen, she failed to go through with the process and left with the baby. When he wakes he finds the other two pods empty, or finds the cryo expert’s body.
Another alternative would be for him to volunteer to go first. Unbeknownst to him, his wife and the cryo expert had been seeing each other and they either leave together, or set their own pods to awaken themselves a year earlier than Reynaldo, so they can elope together.)
He left the remains of the cryonics building.

Motivation

does not want to be reminded of anything that happened during or before the war. only wants to deal with the present and future. this is because the past reminds him of his family who died in the war. he watched his friends, parents, brother, wife, and kids die from a combination of radiation, cold, starvation, and illness.
he has always been driven to succeed. now he wants to grow a thriving business. he dreams of a quiet and comfortable retirement, but he would not be able to settle down and enjoy such a retirement unless he can find a way to put his demons to rest. in the meantime he distracts himself from the demons by staying in constant motion.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

Charming, extremely funny, and handsome. He has an excellent head for business.
He is not familiar with the current world. He has no particular combat experience, and doesn't know how to fix his own truck. As such he is completely reliant on hired guards and mechanics to keep his truck running.
