The Salindre make a final attempt at escape from the Norindre. Gathering people from the prisons, they make a mass effort to flee from persecution into the Paje desert.

After 50 years of fighting and discrimination, the Salindre are dying in large numbers. Some want to rise up and fight back, but most want to flee. There's a group that wants to go South, but no one really knows what's beyond the desert. But they know there are some people to the West, and that if they keep following the coast they might be able to survive. People are broken out of prisons and everyone takes off in a large group. Many people die.
