Nivaj D'valin

Nivaj D'valin grew up in a middle class family in Acretun, one of the Core Planets. From a young age she took an interest in politics. She obsessively studied elections, analyzing patterns in winning campaigns and candidates. She read books on famous political leaders. She did not see herself as a politician. As she saw it, great politicians must have a great story... and there was nothing exciting about her story as she saw it. She was sharp and capable. She got good grades. Her family was stable and happy in a core planet. No great stories of overcoming obstacles, no grand accomplishments that show how she overcame the injustices of society to rise to its zenith.  That's not her story and she has little interest in convincing people otherwise.   So instead she's found job after job working in the offices of major politicians. Mayors, Senators, Local Magistrates, and the like. Some of them she respected, some of them she didn't. She had few possessions and traveled widely for her work. She's worked every aspect of campaigns. She's written ad copy, set up fliers, worked through canvassing scripts for volunteers. She's done extensive research on the people she works with, and loves doing individual meetings on her bosses' behalf. But she rarely gives public addresses. These days, she maintains a small junior staff and meets with Premier Saladin as much as she can.   Before the revolution, she said that she linked herself with Holcomb Saladin's campaign for a simple reason. She liked winners. And she felt confident that he would win. She began working with him as a Senator, and used Telenetic  Overload attacks to undermine his opponent. Basically a formula where you overload the Telenet with dishonest negative attacks against specific demographics in order to sway voters. It was a frequently criticized move that was never linked to the campaign. Her willingness to be ruthless in targeting her opponents set her up for sucesss in the campaign and in other campaigns to come.    Premier Saladin kept her on for all of his future campaigns, and made here a liason to loyal Senators and following that, delegates to the new Constitutional Convention. She developed an infamous reputation as someone who was all at once, fiercely loyal to her boss so long as he held the advantage. By the time, Premier Saladin had been forced into retirement and eventual exile, she had already jumped ship and would find herself working as an advisor for Magdaleina's administration.
