Demon Lords

The ten Demon Lords of the Abyss are its strongest and most powerful residents, representing the peak of demonic power. Commanding the Abyssal Court and ruling the lesser senatorial demons by right of power alone, the Demon Lords continue to wage their own wars and political rivalries against each other while simultaneously aiming to increase their own power through traditional means on Ansible, the Chaos, and the morally-aligned planes. Recent contact with the Hive and the spreading of the idea of the Sword Logic has radically shifted the political field of the Demon Lords and the Abyssal Court, allowing new talent to rise while old flames burn out, unable or unwilling to transition to the seemingly more powerful system of tribute gathering and consumption.
Originally numbering ten, the first of the Demon Lords- and the first to master the Ascendant Realm after its contact with the Hive- was banished permanently to his throne world by Calus, the deity of the afterlife. Then numbering nine, it was only in recent times that a new demon- Oryx- grew significantly in power and was able to take his own seat among the demon lords.
