The Empire of Oakthorn

The Empire of Oakthorn was an empire from the northern Far Lands outside Odarinn which, in the year 10 FT, invaded the continent. This was the act which sparked The Schism, and the future of Odarinn to come.

Disbandment

The fall of the empire started soon after it entered Odarinn. It made its way from the northern end of the continent to the southern end, and became stretched thin - then, The Schism happened, and the displaced empire scrambled to try and deal with the consequences. The land was ripped in two, separating the empire into two halves, and then came the War of the Giants, which weakened the empire further. The meaning of an empire was quickly lost in the wake of the destruction, and already at the beginning of the war the empire was practically destroyed.

After the War of the Giants, all that remained of the empire was the land it once claimed, and the broken, weak and weary people who lived in it. Skagerrach, the Conqueror, used this to his advantage when he flew across the mountains, sweeping the already weakened land in acidic fire and ensuring that the Empire of Oakthorn was never to rise again - as if finding a rotting corpse, and burning it to ashes to make sure it could not be resurrected. In the end, Skagerrach adopted this land as his own, and what had once been the Empire of Oakthorn now became Skagerrach's Domain. One tyrannous empire fell, and the space left behind was reclaimed by yet another tyrant.
