Frostell, Tundra Barrens

Months ago, you and your party found a lead on the druidic cult. In the ensuing chase, you saw the cultists evacuate one particular member via teleportation circle.   The circle was partly sabotaged after by one of the remaining cultists barely managed to erase a part of it, but your diligence paid off as your wizard traced the symbols; they mostly matched ones that connected to Frostell.   Your group exchanged a slow glance and promptly got to gearing up.   Heavy with furs, parkas, and food, you've trekked for weeks. Your progress has been slow, hindered by the gusts of wind and infrequent blizzards. Before arriving in Jin'ak, your kenku monk succumbed to the howling winds and baleful spirits of this forlorn land.   Desolate, cold, and nigh-hopeless, the tundras of Frostell are particularly cruel this time of year.

Geography

The ice sheets of Frostell loom in the northern stretches of the archipelago, and they house little terrain diversity. There are mountains, but they have long-since been buried in countless meters of snow, so they resemble foothills and dunes now.   In the heart of this region are a pair of, oddly enough, massive hot springs. The two have been aptly dubbed the Twin Lakes, but they have no apparent inlet, and the single outlet doesn't account for all the water that leaves the lakes.

Fauna & Flora

There are roving packs of peculiar canid animals; nicknamed Yeti Dogs. Their heads stand normally at ten feet, but if they rise to their legs (thus going bipedal), the largest can be 20-25 feet tall. They are CR 4 creatures with a run speed of 40 feet/turn, benefit from the Pack Tactics trait, and can see in lightly obscured conditions as if they were clear, and in heavily obscured as if they were lightly obscured, so long as the obscuring effect is due to a blizzard.   Around the Twin Lakes, hardy Winter Spine bushes thrive. These bear fruit that resemble Shatterberries, but are inert and more akin to regular blackberries; they bear fruit in the early months of the year, just before spring. Local villages and nomadic tribes boil them to make a hearty broth that helps stave off the cold.

Natural Resources

There are plenty of Udanite deposits in the mountains, but the weather makes it almost impossible to retrieve. They're well-known, but many expeditions have been abandoned due to ill-prepared crews.
