Jormundgand

Jormundgand is a gargantuan chaotic evil quasi-deity that roams in the oceans of Langraan. Its head remotely resembling that of a dragon, its long body is covered by a myriad of turquoise scales. Jormundgands only instinct seems to be its self preservation, ever hunting and feeding on the aquatic lifeforms. Many sailor pray to never encounter Jormungand, as under normal circumstances meeting the Serpent means to die. There are only a handful of people having encountered and survive it. The mage Warron Salis described his encounter with Jormungand as follows: "Thousands of beautiful turquoise gems carefully aligned, reflecting the sunset, we were voyaging into. It was only when this breathtaking large body squashed one of our three ships like an overripe berry, that I realizied we were in big trouble. I shot my strongest spell i had prepared, without it having any grand effect. As it elegantly destroyed the second ship, I fled. Not my favourite story... I don't believe in the other stories, where sailors allegedly bargained with Jormungand. What could you possibly offer it?"
