The first Queen of the Isle of Voni, sister of Delmira Voniara, first of her name and beginning of her line.
Born in the slums her mother gave birth to Gerwalt and Delmira alone, with not a friend beside her and barely enough strength in her bones to get through the arduous process. But still each child came out healthy, and more than happy to be wrapped in their mothers embrace. In this cold cottage on a hill, overlooking the rocky coasts of the Isle of Voni, the two girls would grow up.
The twins were like two sides of one coin. Gerwalt was decisive and quick in all things and she had a knack for chess and a love of people, with each visit to town bringing her a new friend. Though she did not have a name, nor much of a family, it was hardly a hindrance for the girl, who soon found herself captivated by local warriors and fighters. She began to train each day, learning the ways of the spear and sword by watching nearby mercenaries from the trees and bushes, vowing to use her skills to defend her mother and sister.
But these wishes were not to be, as their mother died when they were only ten, leaving the sisters to fend for themselves. A life of trials and burdens faced her in the coming years, but with each passing day she gained a new ally, and journeyed across the Isle she called home to battle the forces that would keep it separated and warring. With each new foe slain, and each town rallied under her banner, Gerwalt became a hero to the people. Her blade never slowed, and her judgement always clear, she listened to those around her and ensured the people of the Isle would have a land to call their own.
Nearing her fifties (quite young for a half elf to be truthful) she founded what would become the city of Insas, building the castle that would be her home and a symbol of the people for the rest of her days. Upon it's founding Gerwalt at last took a name, to symbolize her tie to this land and it's people. Until her dying breath she would uphold this promise, to ensure the safety of all around her, and help her people grow.
