Lassan

Lassan (a.k.a. Sun God, Creator)

Lassan is one of the Six.

Divine Domains

Life Health Sunshine

Holy Books & Codes

Lassan is the only dragon god known to have published a book. It is called "Laws of Life" and is only studied by accomplished scholars in the original Dragon. It mostly discusses the importance, yet transience, of life; it also includes a list of ideas for what to do with an animal carcass to avoid wasting any of it.

Tenets of Faith

  • Do not kill without the intent of using the entire creature
  • Do not cause harm unless it is required to kill
  • Treat all living creatures with loving care
  • Holidays

Lasan (LUH-san) is held on the summer solstice. It is a day mostly for food and revelry, but it is also the day when new babies are blessed and become an official part of the community in many species.

    Divine Goals & Aspirations

Lassan's goal is to help Anian maintain the balance between life and death. Lassan is convinced that they got the better pat of the deal.

    Physical Description

    General Physical Condition

Lassan is covered in large, matte scales that change color at will.

    Body Features

    Covered in large, color-changing scales.

    Facial Features

They have a medium-sized snout that ends in closed nostrils.

    Identifying Characteristics

The Six are nearly indistinguishable from one another. Lassan is known for their penchant for bright colors. They will occasionally put on a show using their scales to entertain the mortal species. (This is how it became well known that the dragon gods can camouflage themselves by changing color.)

    Physical quirks

They always walk as though they are proud of themselves.

    Special abilities

Dragon magic gives them the ability to create new species, among other things.   Powerful enough for you?

    Mental characteristics

    Personal history

Lassan is a social, well-loved dragon god. Although the Six are all equals, Lassan is often mistaken for being the leader - they are not afraid to represent the Six or even make decisions on their behalf (sometimes without considering their opinions). Lassan lives in the southeast of Ancora but has been known to frequent all of the larger cities. This dragon god truly revels in their job of creating and protecting all living things.

    Gender Identity

Lassan considers dragon gods to be beyond the need for such classification systems.

    Sexuality

They are not interested in such things.

    Accomplishments & Achievements

Although Aen created plants, animals, and mortals, Lassan is credited exclusively with creating the several lesser dragon species that inhabit Ancora.

    Mental Trauma

They are, if anything, too sheltered and optimistic. This comes from being able to create and save lives.

    Intellectual Characteristics

Lassan is bright, but they are not fond of ruminating or pondering as a hobby.

    Morality & Philosophy

  • Life itself cannot be destroyed, but each living thing must still be treated with loving care.
  • If a life must be taken, do so quickly and purposefully.
  • Taboos

  • Killing or harming something for no reason.
  • Wasting parts of something that you killed.
  • Personality Characteristics

    Motivation

Lassan works with Anian to keep the balance between life and death on Ancora.   Lassan's main priority is to keep the different species and their individual members alive and healthy.

    Savvies & Ineptitudes

Lassan is very charismatic despite being terrible at empathizing.

    Likes & Dislikes

    Likes:
  • watching and interacting with different creatures
  • warm places
  • sunshine
  • Dislikes:
  • politics
  • overthinking
  • being sticky
  • Virtues & Personality perks

Lassan is playing the long game, which makes them very patient. One hundred years for a tree to grow? What's the rush?   They are also very willing to listen to and try to help mortals.

    Vices & Personality flaws

They are not very understanding of mortals' attachment to individual creatures - if one faun dies but another is born, they don't see what the problem is.

    Personality Quirks

They have a tendency to look over people's heads while talking to them, as if staring off into the future.

    Hygiene

Lassan smells and looks just fine.

    Social

    Contacts & Relations

Lassan is most frequently sought out by healers, the sick, and those hoping to become parents.

    Family Ties

All of the dragon gods are on relatively friendly terms.   Of the Six, Lassan works the most closely with Anian. They have a good-natured competition going and constantly try to outsmart the other with their work to keep things interesting.

    Social Aptitude

They are both charismatic and kind, even when they cannot understand why the other party is distraught.

    Mannerisms

Lassan has a habit of staring over people's heads, as though trying to look into the future. This is mostly because they are trying to look insightful rather than like they are spacing out.

    Hobbies & Pets

They enjoy watching smaller creatures (squirrels, small dragons, etc.) and being used as a jungle gym.

    Speech

Lassan will often say "ahhh..." when they don't understand something, in hopes of moving the conversation along.

    Wealth & Financial state

Lassan does not care much for things - only living creatures. (And no, they don't have a collection of those hidden somewhere.)
