Here-to-there Spell
This is a deceptively dangerous spell. Mastering it with confidence is one of the early milestones of a wizard's career.
The most famous users of this spell are:
Jon of Vonn - known for his ability to appear almost anywhere, even outside his range of vision
Elias - known for converting this spell into the here-to-what-if spell used in the Jump
Effect
It takes something (or someone) from one place to another. Although the object generally must appear and disappear either in the magic user's line of sight or a site that they know extremely well, it can be used to get to otherwise impossible places or move heavy objects with ease.
Side/Secondary Effects
As with all human magic, the wording of the spell must be incredibly specific. Depending on the element that is miscast, the spell could (a) reassemble an item wrong, (b) create it in a space where something else already exists, thereby splicing it, (c) wait a few days or years before reassembling the item, (d) reassemble the item in an unknown place, or (e) any number of other horrendous things.
If a here-to-there spell is miscast on a human, the result could easily be mutilation or death. Many magic users will not transport live beings, even themselves, for this reason.
Manifestation
In both the "here" and the "there" areas, there is a slight rush of cool air. It is otherwise silent and unnoticeable, save for something disappearing in one place and reappearing in another.
Source
It draws from the magical power of the area. It is not considered to be a notable amount of magic to draw.
Discovery
This spell is one of the oldest, passed down from generation to generation. Successful completion of the here-to-there spell is part of becoming a journeyman wizard.
