Arx Central

Arx Central is the first building that the humans built upon their arrival to Ancora. It is a large, wooden building with only one large room - still, it fits the nearly one hundred humans that arrived during the Jump.
On one end of Arx Central is a fire pit and cooking area, and on the other end are tables, chairs, and cots. It is built in the traditional style of the old world - with complete logs, fitted together, and the seams covered in mud. The roof is made of leaves and bark; this not only makes for good rain cover but also decent camouflage. (At the time that Arx Central was built, the Jumpers were uncertain whether the new world was inhabited or not, and they did not want to take any risks.)
The building is always bustling with activity. It is where the Jumpers hold their meetings and make any major decisions. Although some people have built their own homes nearby, others are content to remain at Arx Central and survive communally for now. The atmosphere within the building is currently one of a cautious relief. While the Jumpers are certainly grateful that Elias found a way to escape the old world, they are equally afraid of the unknown that awaits them here.

Purpose / Function

This building was built only a few months ago with the purpose of protecting all of the Jumpers and giving them a home base in which to congregate.

Alterations

The roof has been fixed a couple of times, as it is still a work in progress.

Architecture

It is made with logs and mud, in the tradition of the old world. It has not been adorned at all yet, so it is currently somewhat camouflaged.

History

This building is only a few months old! A few weeks after the Jump, an ideal site was selected for the new town of Arx and the construction of the great hall began. The construction itself took less time than expected due to the high number of magic users and the immense amount of magic available in the area.
