Cliffside Food and Lodging

This inn sits on the edge of town, on the edge of a mountain, and at the edge sanity. DO NOT GO IF AFRAID OF HEIGHTS. The drop is enough to make you sick, faint over the edge, and kill you.

It looks like a fairly normal inn (except for the extreme drop in the background) save that is painted red and the ash that piles up on the roof makes it look like it is about to burn. Upon entering you will find stone floors and counters, contrasting its flammable exterior. The innkeeper seemed quite nice at first. Said I could stay for free if I worked my keep, but I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Seeing as Cliffside is the only inn or tavern in town, it is the hub of adult Ashville social life. I found myself spending all night cleaning and delivering drinks, which wasn't terrible except that I was dead tired. The visitors were fairly polite to eachother, this is one of the few gathering places in their town, but they did not like me much. Between the teasing and the pointed questions and the fact that I had grown used to the quiet, I the first night nearly floored me.

Long story short, stay, but if you can pay for a room rather than work for it. They don't get many outsiders in Ashville, so you'll have to be extra friendly. Oh, and don't eat anything with meat in it. Its disgusting and their animals don't eat grass, so just get some beer and ask for the mushrooms.

The rooms arn't too shabby, if it wasn't for the view and their tendency to sway and creek in the night. The rooms at Cliffside are stacked like a toddler was trying to see how high they could make a tower. There were at least ten times in the night I thought the whole thing would blow over.

The inn man is reasonable, next time I'll try to get a room lower in the stack.
