The Nymari

The former slaves of the Kingdom of Sindari, most commonly referred to as the Mari. The Mari are a collection of magickal sapient species who are dedicated to seeking out and destroying the final remnants of their former masters, the Nari, and to forging themselves into a cohesive empire ruled by the embodiments of the magickal forces in the galaxy. The Mari are a hedonistic society with a hierarchy of rulers based on the might of individuals and clans which control territories that are distinct from each other but share on common ancestry and culture. They cover a moderate territory of galactic space and typically reside on planets ruled by several clans large enough to function as kingdoms that balance each other in a complex interconnected system of balances against each other. Some reside on planets where a single clan is powerful enough to control their neighboring clans as provinces. On the scale of their empire, their rule is fractured the larger clans across the systems band together against outside threats such as significant incursions by foreign adversaries, or to coordinate hostilities against the Nari.

Hierarchy:

Deus: The fabled Emperor of the Mari Empire.   Tyrannus: The ruler of multiple systems of the Mari territories.   Dictator: The ruler of a singular system of the Mari territories.   Rex: The ruler of a kingdom within a system of the Mari territories.   Dominus: The ruler over a province within the system of a Dictator or kingdom of a Rex.   Dux: The ruler of a clan within the province of a Dominus, or independently on a planet without a Dictator or Tyrannus.   Apparitor: The second-in-command of a ruler, responsible for carrying out their orders.   Pleb: The common Mari who has passed their right of initiation into a clan.   Occisor: A Mari that is not part of a clan, an outcast.

Notable Clan Leaders:

Tyrannus Sapphirus: Lead by a revolving door of claimants to the title of Tyrannus Sapphirus whose clan leads fifteen systems. The leadership of these systems has ritualistically fallen to the hands of the one who successfully claims the Sapphire Crown, an ornate golden crown with fifteen large sapphires. The average length of reign for those to claim the title is five years.   Clan of Tyrannus Majarvi: Tyrannus Majarvi is the clan leader of six systems, he is gifted with unnatural longevity and evocation. Majarvi dates back to the uprising against the Sindari Kingdom ten millennia ago. The single strongest leader outside of the fabled Deus.   Clan of Tyrannus Sera: Tyrannus Sera is the clan leader of four systems, she is gifted with unnatural longevity and psionics. Sera claimed the title from her father three millennia ago.   Tyrannus Victa: The clan leader of four systems, the system falling to the control of one of several of the most prominent clans within these systems. The average length to reign for those that claim the title is eight years.   Tyrannus Lucien: Tyrannus Lucien is the clan leader of three systems, he is gifted with unnatural longevity and invulnerability. Lucien dates back to the uprising against the Sindari Kingdom ten millennia.

Powers:

Elemental: Typical powers among most of the Mari people. These powers are centered around lightning or fire and are primarily fueled via the potency of the individual and the intensity of their emotions.   Psionic: Atypical powers among the Mari people. These powers are centered around psychokinesis and telepathy and are primarily fueled via the potency and the individual and the level of their concentration.   Longevity: Atypical powers among the Mari people. These powers center around the decrease in aging during youth to the point of cessation in maturity, with the physical and mental faculties of the individuals increasing as they age.   Healing: Typical powers amongst the Mari people. These powers are centered around accelerated healing and healing touch and are primarily fueled via the potency of the individual.   Invulnerability: Typical powers among the Mari people. These powers are centered around enhanced endurance, enhanced strength, elemental resistance, poison resistance, disease resistance, and psionic resistance and are fueled through the potency of the individual and their age.   Evocation: Typical powers among the Mari people. These powers relate to the ability to utilize Evocation magick through their thoughts, rather than being required to utter it aloud to utilize. As opposed to the other powers among the Mari people, the use of Evocation through thought is purely determined by the skill the Mari possesses in the use of Evocation.

Economy:

The Mari people have a brutal slave economy utilizing the captured survivors of the Sinadri Kingdom. Slaves are killed at the whim of their masters or their superiors, often as an outlet of frustration of failure or circumstances out of their control. Slaves are tasked with producing anything that the Mari people desire to have.   The Mari themselves have a raiding culture, where those they perceive as their lessers are either taxed for all that the Mari demand or attacked for what they desire. This applies to their clans as much as the surrounding clans that they dominate or rival.
