Ledgermen

The Ledgermen are trained for and tasked with the responsibility of acting as couriers for the imperial banking system of the Drakling Empire. The Ledgermen are necessary for the banking system to function throughout the empire, responsible for ferrying information between way stations in order to keep the records of the Imperial Mint and the Peasantry up-to-date.
The Ledgermen are light scouts who wear light armor which consists of a chainmail shirt and trousers, with leather boots, gloves, greaves, bracers, vest, and cap. Attached to their right leather glove is a buckler, with a short sword at their left side and a dagger at their right side. On their back, they carry a large satchel strapped over the shoulders across the chest and under the other side. The satchel is crafted from fur pelts over a woven leather pouch that is interlaced with chainmail shielded by a solid plate metal armor piece secured to the back.
The Ledgermen spend their time in service traveling between two of the way stations, working in pairs carrying and taking responsibility for the documents under their charge. Each way station houses a dozen Ledgermen, typically with eight of them active at any one time on shifts of two months working and one month at rest. Two pairs work the routes to two neighboring way stations while four remain to guard and maintain the way station along with its coffers and storehouse.
