Java Nice Day Cafe

"Don't forget your morning cup of coffee! And remember, Java Nice Day!" (The Motto for the cafe)
Java Nice Day Cafe is a small local cafe in Waywind, California. The cafe was originally called Stop N Go Cafe before new owners took over, and remodeled. It's a family owned business owned by the Cherche's. It's on the corner of Monroe Street and Elroy Road, which is across the street from Waywind High School. Soliel and her friends frequently visit this place, since Noona and her family own the cafe.

In the Story

After School, Noona invites Soliel to the cafe when Soliel returns to Waywind. This begins a reoccurring visit between the four teens. Each time, a different reasoning. Often times, Noona will be called in for a part-time shift, Soliel helping to clean after closing times. Aimee is usually seen at the Cafe either looking bored, or cheerful. Noona however is either bored or frustrated. This shows that Noona is having a harder time since she is a freshmen in high school while Aimee is over 20.

Appearance

The Cafe is medium sized, with light grey bricks on the outside with a black door for the entrance. In the window boxes, Different colors of Germanium, Petunias, And Begonias are beautifully displayed. When entering the cafe, the walls are a darker grey, and the floor is a light grey wooden floor. At the back of the cafe is a huge bookcase that wraps around the wall, and small groups of bean bag chairs sit invitingly in front of them. To the left of the door, a row of booths hug the wall, a total of eight booths perfect to seat a group between 4 and 6. Several more tables are nearby, strategically placed so the waitresses/waiters can move around without bumping into a table or booth.   To the right of the door, down the hallway on the right side is the restrooms. At the end of the hall is a small supply closet locked for after hours and/or cleaning purposes.   To the left of the library is a counter with a register, and several expresso machines and blenders, as well as a drive thru window. In between the library and the register is a walkway door that leads into a clean and pristine kitchen, which then to the right of the kitchen leads into the office, where they do meetings or interviews.

Purpose / Function

The reasoning for this cafe to come to life is due to the fact that the story is an ongoing thing, and often times, they will need a place where they always meet up at, whether it's to get away from stress or to enjoy a day out with friends.

Alterations

Stop N Go (1948-2009)

Stop N Go was founded in 1948 by a man named Rodney Carter while he was sitting in a diner. He was 27 years old. In 2004, Carter hired Leo Cherche, who was 34. The two became close partners up until 2008, when Carter suffered a Stroke. After a debate with his family, Carter decided to retire, but before he did, he promoted Cherche to be the new owner of the cafe. Rodney made Leo promise him that he'd make the cafe a better place.   In 2009, Stop N Go closed its doors. A sign on the door prompted "After 61 years of hard work, Stop N Go has closed its doors. Thank you to everyone who has stopped by to enjoy this cafe, and hope you will stick around for a new beginning of this cafe!"
"I think I shall make you the owner of this building.. But promise me that you'll take better care of this than I did. I worked too hard to let it go to waste..." (Rodney to Leo in 2009)

Java Nice Day (2009-Current)

Leo Cherche saved up his paychecks and savings to remodel and reopen the cafe under a new name, 'Java Nice Day', which was coined by Rodney when the two worked together in Stop N Go. Unfortunately, two years after JNC opened, Rodney had passed away. Before he passed, he left a will to his family, which had included Leo. In the will, he gave Leo $850,000 to kick off a successful start to the remodeled cafe. Cherche opened JNC with his family at his side to make the cafe feel even more home-like, his daughters Aimee and Noona helping after hours. When Aimee became 18, she started working as a manager in the cafe.   Leo hired other employees as well, and began adjusting to shifts and urged for a clean and pristine kitchen "Just the way Mr. Carter would have it.". In 2014, JNC celebrated it's 5th anniversary by setting up a plaque in the cafe dedicated to Rodney and Stop N Go, saying "For the hard work Rodney Carter has done for Waywind".
