Amane

The island empire of Amane, is a land of nature, beauty, strength and mysticism. The majority of the hundreds of islands that make up this nation, are ruled by Emperor Seian. There are many great families that all owe fealty to the Emperor and they may even occasionally play courtly games to vie for favor in the eyes of their leader. There are times when these games become much more and war breaks out amongst the various clans. But now is a time of relative peace. In the far north, there are three clans who have banded together against the Emperor, believing that not he, but his late sister was meant to be the true ruler of the people. They blame Emperor Seian for her early demise.

All people know that the country of Amane, or the country of the Roots of Heaven, was born of the first seed of creation. There are signs of this original moment of creation around the people in the form of Kami or spirits. Fragments of the first power that was unleashed by the deities which formed the world and humankind. But it must also be noted that at the time of creation had a darker side as well. For when the great seed was planted, there must also come a balance of destruction. Corruption lies deep in world, and most people rarely encounter the malevolence that teachings warn of. However it is rare for one to go throughout life without ever at least seeing the effects of the presence of evil.
