Amaar is the realm of Amaranthis the Red, and to her image, it is a land of forever battle and carnage. The souls sent here from The Beyond are only the most depraved, vile, and terrifying of all, and it is considered suicide to even consider visiting it. 
The Lady of Carnage rules her land with an iron hand, and when she's not busy hacking away at souls with her axes and resurrecting them over and over again, she's organizing bloody and sadistic games to satisfy her appetite.
